Tour description
If you’re interested in getting to know more about Tuscany’s famous wine, this is the tour for you. Start the morning off with beautiful views over Badia in Passignano before you head to our first family run winery for a short tour of the vineyard and cellars with a taste of three wines. At the first winery, we’ll discuss how altitude, aging, soil composition and biological wine making practices all affect the grape at a winery that doesn’t even release it’s wines until its been five years in the barrel.
Next, it’s lunch with a view over the rolling hills and a stroll through a local Chianti town (time permitting) before heading to your second winery in the south of Chianti Classico where you will try three more wines that may also carry the Chianti Classico label but will have a completely different taste due to the soil composition and choices of the winemakers.
We’ll take care of the bookings so you can relax and enjoy a perfect day in the Chianti Classico countryside.

Tour description: Understanding Chianti
If you’re interested in getting an in depth introduction to Tuscany’s most famous wine, then this is the tour for you. We’ll be going to an off the beaten track winery where you’ll meet the winemakers themselves and get a personalised experience that focuses on what goes into making Chianti Classico special. With your guide, you’ll discuss how altitude, ageing, soil composition and biological wine making practices all affect the grape.
At lunch in a local restaurant, you’ll learn the basics of food and wine pairing and why Chianti Classico wine goes so well with local dishes like truffle, wild boar, and pecorino cheeses. You’ll have a chance to try a number of different wines while your guide goes into the education side of wine tasting but always in an entertaining and interactive way.
This is not your usual wine tour of Tuscany and by the end of it, we hope you’ll come away with a new appreciation of Chianti Classico.
